“I SO appreciate CU's leadership in calling all believers to an extraordinary, wholehearted, and relentless pursuit of God. There's an urgency! Thanks for inviting me into this. It was such a privilege to be part of this weekend's Fire! *And count me IN for the next one!*”  – Christopher

Christian Union founder and CEO, Matt Bennett, has found that extended, focused times of drawing near to God have an incredibly positive impact on Christians, providing powerful spiritual strengthening and renewed vision. Why CU Fire Retreats?

Are you hungry to experience God in a deeper and fuller way? Are you longing for a closer relationship with the God who loves you? Have you considered that taking more time to seek the Lord and draw close to Him will have a dramatic impact on your closeness to God and make you a person who changes others’ lives for all of eternity? CU Fire Retreats are a way to intentionally draw close to Him, providing a space for seeking God in a guided fashion.

Anyone can seek God in their own time, but doing so with friends and people you’re wanting to get to know creates a bonding and camaraderie that is powerful. You will join with like-minded Christians to pursue God together.

As more and more Christians take time to seek God and grow stronger in Him, God draws near to us with His increased power and presence in our churches, communities, and nation. Many are frustrated with the spiritual decline in their communities and the nation, but seeking the Lord is the answer. As believers grow strong in the Lord, their vibrant faith will bring a supernatural change.

We invite you to join us by being a host for one of these powerful retreats of seeking God together!

What is required to be a host? (See also CU Fire FAQ)

Anyone can apply to be a CU Fire Retreat Host. CU Fire Retreat Hosts agree to CU’s statement of faith and ethics. Christian Union provides Hosts with everything they need to lead a group, including how to invite 8-12 friends and what is needed to host a group in your home or virtually. Each group has a Primary Host, and a Primary Host can have a Co-Host if desired.

Hosts’ $39 registration fee is refunded if they recruit four or more participants to their group. Each group has one Primary Host and the option of one Co-Host who also will be refunded their registration fee if together they recruit four or more participants.

What is required to be an attendee?

Because of the purpose and focus of this designated time, CU Fire Retreats are designed for participants who can be present for the entirety of the time (see sample schedule below). If schedules prohibit someone from being present, then participants are encouraged to wait and to attend the next CU Fire Retreat, which takes place every three months.

We ask that everyone fast during the day of CU Fire Retreat by refraining from food up until dinner on Saturday. Fasting facilitates humility, closeness with God and spiritual power that will amplify our time together. Groups will break their fast by eating dinner together on Saturday.  If fasting is unfamiliar to you, you can read about why we fast and how to fast. If attendees do not or cannot fast they are still encouraged to attend, although a whole group fasting together is the ideal.

What is the cost to join a CU Fire Retreat?

Registration fees are as follows. However, Hosts’ registration fees are refunded if they have at least four additional participants in their group:

$39 - By September 17, 2022 - 4 weeks before CU Fire Retreat

$49 - Between September 17 and October 7, 2022 - 1-4 weeks before CU Fire Retreat

$59 - Between October 8-14, 2022 - 1 week before CU Fire Retreat.

Participant registration opens August 14, 2022 -  2 months before each CU Fire Retreat.

The number of life-changing testimonies from CU Fire Retreats has been astounding. CU Fire Retreats may be the easiest way to get strengthened in theLord and go deeper in Christian community that’s centered on God in such a short period of time - 1.5 days. There seems to be great potential for expansive spiritual impact on communities and the nation.” -  Chuck Hetzler, Ph.D., Director, CU Day and Night (Get to know Chuck at his bio here and one of his devotionals here.)

"And all the assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the people of Israel had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing.  And day by day, from the first day to the last day, he read from the Book of the Law of God. They kept the feast seven days, and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly, according to the rule." – Nehemiah 8:17-18

"The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD and to seek the LORD of hosts; I myself am going.’" – Zechariah 8:21

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." – Hebrews 10:24

We are expectant and anticipating a great work of the Holy Spirit during this time! We hope you'll join us as we seek God together!

“Christian Union, through its inspired and dedicated efforts, is doing much to prepare young people for the future by giving them a faith to live by.”

Over the last three centuries, revivals have had a great impact. Between 1730 and 1830 successive movements of the Holy Spirit brought a large proportion of the population into the churches. These awakenings are not ultimately the result of marketing or organization. They come, by God’s grace and in his time, in response to extraordinary prayer. Christian Union is making a serious attempt to spark this kind of prayer and devotion. I welcome it, and I’m very encouraged by it.
