Hi, I'm Pastor Dimas with Christian Union, and so excited to be able to share with you today. I'm author of a book called, Street God. I just want to share a scripture that always encourages me and I hope it will encourage you. It's in Ephesians 2:10 that says, "For we are his," talking about Jesus, "his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

One of the things that I find that's so powerful is sometimes I'm trying to communicate to people about Jesus, I try to tell people about who God is, but one thing that I find gets great attention is when Christians are compelled to do good works. When Christians are loving and serving and caring. You know, the Bible often talks about how much we are called to love one another and to love people that don't believe the way we believe.

I never want to come across as a believer like I'm working for one of those pyramid groups, where I get to meet you, draw you in like we're having a friendship, and then I drop on you some deep sales pitch. I remember many times my wife and I would meet people, and it would be absolutely incredible, and then they would drop the sales pitch on us. And we just felt like, dang, I authentically wanted to know them.

So Jesus challenges us, as believers, to go out and do great works. Go out and do good works. And that doesn't exclude sharing your faith. I remember not too long ago, it was myself and Matt Bennett and a group of others, and we jumped on the subway train and we started to share our testimonies and stories on the train. And many never did it before. We gathered, we were like, "Let's go and do something," and we stepped out and we went and we shared our faith.

You know, several times, one of the things that I do, when shootings happen around the country or I hear people are hurting, like this shooting that just happened in Virginia Beach, so in the next day or two, I'm going to travel down there. I'm going to share love with victims. I'm going to pray for people. And they say, "What are you doing here? Why did you come?" I'm going to tell them I came because Jesus loves you all and Jesus cares for you all, and Jesus compelled me to come and be a witness.

Not too long ago, I just left Sri Lanka. We were there, going to people's homes who suffered these horrible bomb explosions and were injured. And we went there and we gave them money and we shared the love of Christ, that God cares for them and loves them.

So, Jesus challenges us to do good works. So I want to challenge you, go out, do some good in this world, particularly during these [ten] days. Go out and share the love of Jesus, share your faith through words and more, even powerfully share them through your actions.

God bless, keep looking up, keep Christ number one.

Here is this evening's guide for the “Five Rs” of The Great Experiment, June 1-10, 2019.

1. Read and Pray

Psalm 1:1-3 – Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

Read Psalm 1:1-6 for more context.

This morning's Prayer Points

  • Ask God to give you a love for His word, especially if you have had difficulty getting into the Bible in the past.
  • Ask the Lord to make you into a tree that would bring strength, rest, and fruit to those around you.

2. Repent.
What sins do I need to repent of today? What hindrances to my devotion to Christ can I remove today?

3. Respond to the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit, what is the one thing you most want me to do today? (Write it down, and do it today).

4. Represent Christ.
How will I bear witness to Christ today? With whom shall I share the Gospel today?

5. Raise Your Faith.
Be bold and courageous in living out your faith (Joshua 1:8,9). Choose from one of the following options for a “Joshua Faith Challenge”:

  1. Host an all-night prayer meeting. Set a date during June 1-10 and invite friends to come and pray with you for revival in America.
  2. Every day, pray for ten friends and family members to come to faith in Christ and look for opportunities to share the gospel with them.
  3. Share an evangelistic post on social media every day from June 1-10.
  4. Anything else the Lord burdens you to take on that will require courageous faith.
