The Great Experiment - Day 2

Saturday, March 2, 2019 - Day 2

Dear Friend in Christ,

God loves you and rewards you as you seek Him with your whole heart (Hebrews 11:6, Jeremiah 29:13). As 5,000 of us from across America press into God together we can expect Him to hear and to respond. As you pray and read the Scriptures morning and evening during the ten days of the Great Experiment, an acrostic may be helpful. When I pray, I think about taking “A TRIP” with God. A stands for Adoration; T stands for Thanksgiving; R stands for Repentance; I stands for Intimacy; and P stands for Petition. Most of the letters are self explanatory, but the I for Intimacy is not as common. During this part of your prayer, share with God whatever’s on your heart and also take time to listen to Him to hear what He’s saying to you.

As you repent of your sins, you can expect closer fellowship with God. 1 Peter 3:7 shows that husbands can expect their prayers to be hindered if they are not treating their wives well. This principle can be broadened to any disobedience in our lives. To have close fellowship with God, we must repent of all our sins and walk with Him in obedience.

I’m praying for you!  May God bless you draw closer to Him!

Yours in Christ,

Matt Bennett,

Here is today’s guide for the “Five Rs” of The Great Experiment, March 1-10, 2019.

1. Read and Pray
Hebrews 4:12 - “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Read Hebrews 4:1-13 for more context.

Today’s Prayer Points

  • Thank God for the richness of His Word. Ask the Spirit to speak to you what you need to hear today.
  • Ask God to make you His mouthpiece to speak to others today.

2. Repent.
What sins do I need to repent of today? What hindrances to my devotion to Christ can I remove today?

3. Respond to the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit, what is the one thing you most want me to do today? (Write it down, and do it today).

4. Represent Christ.
How will I bear witness to Christ today? With whom shall I share the Gospel today?

5. Raise Your Faith.
God, give me the strength and courage to complete my Joshua Faith Challenge.
