If you’ve signed up for Day and Night’s Prayer for Revival movement, you’ve committed to pray for a national spiritual awakening for 15 minutes every day each month. Here are some ways you can maximize those moments in prayer.

1. Praise God!
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! Psalm 100:4
Worship is never a waste. Worship keeps us grounded in God’s goodness. And the Lord is always worthy of praise no matter our situation.
Spend time thanking God for all His attributes and His ways. Declare His power, love, wisdom, and everlasting purposes. Raise your hands to Him in praise. You can use the help of music, but you certainly don’t need to.

2. Pray large, biblical prayers
Your kingdom come, your will be done,on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
Don’t be afraid to ask for too much. Think about the promises of God in the Scriptures and the ways He worked in times past, then pray accordingly. Pray for millions of souls to be saved. Pray for the American entertainment industry to produce godly media. Ask for every church to be packed. Plead for secularism to lose its grip in our schools, government, and public discourse. Go through your mind and think of every major city, entity or influential person in various regions of the country. Pray that they will be transformed to walk in the ways of God.
Remember that nothing is too hard for God. He has turned whole nations around before, and He can by all means do it again.

3. Pray specific prayers
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you, always struggling on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God. Colossians 4:12
Pray for yourself and those close to you, that all of you would “stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.” Pray for specific needs, especially that God would be glorified in meeting them. Ask for God’s wisdom and power for yourself, so that you can fill your role in transforming your circle of influence. Pray for us at Christian Union Day and Night as well. Pray for the resources and favor of God to inspire a network of millions of Christians to seek God for national transformation with passion and persistence.

4. Pray for laborers
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2
God doesn’t usually zap His purposes into place with unilateral force. He typically uses the means of people. Pray that Christians across America will start standing up and speaking out for Jesus like the first disciples did. Pray that Christians in every city and in every sector of society will be salt and light for the Lord, reaching the rich and poor, the influential and forgotten. Ask that we will put away worldly distractions and be consumed with passion for the name of Jesus and the purposes of God. Pray for the gift of evangelism to fill the Body of Christ in America. Ask for American Christians to see themselves as missionaries in their home country, praying and working foremost for the Kingdom of God.

5. Pray for the Church
I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18
Pray for pastors and ministry leaders to be zealous for Christ, walking in holiness and leading the sheep by example and teaching. Pray for all believers – the Church. Pray for a great increase in prayer, fillings of the Spirit, unity,  repentance, discipline to read the Bible, love of holiness, love for God and others, gathering together, forgiveness, generosity, sacrifice, and on and on.

"The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working" (James 5:16)!
